Eva Longoria: Hosting Alma Awards with George Lopez!

Eva Longoria wears two different outfits on the set of Desperate Housewives on Tuesday (July 12) in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old actress shot some scenes with co-star Ricardo Chavira who plays her husband in the ABC dramedy.

Eva will be co-hosting the 2011 Alma Awards with George Lopez on Friday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. on NBC.

This year marks the return of the award show after it was canceled in 2010 when it didn’t have a broadcast partner.

“NBC is proud to join with the NCLR ALMA Awards so that we can recognize the outstanding achievements of Hispanic artists with this national showcase,” the network’s Alternative Programming EVP, Paul Telegdy, said about the show, which Eva will also help executive produce.

America's Got Talent: Recap For Wednesday, July 13, 2011

America's Got Talent: Recap For Wednesday, July 13, 2011
Fearless Flores Family, Duo Aero and Snap Boogie are called to the stage first. They get a montage of their performances last night and after some words from the judges, we find out SNAP BOOGIE will be moving on to the next round!

Avril Lavigne performs her singles What The Hell and Smile. It reminds me of why I was such a big fan back in the day. Not only is she super talented, but she also was never afraid to be herself. She was just her and didn't care what anyone else thought. Love it!

The next three acts to be called to the stage are Squonk Opera, Sandou Trio Russian Mob and J. Chris Newburgh. We get clips from last night's performances and then find out that the act moving on is.....SANDOU TRIO RUSSIAN MOB! They get some sweet words from Piers and share their joy with everyone.

Dezmond Meeks, Echo of Animal Gardens and Anna Graceman are the next to find out their fate. After they are shown their acts one last time ANNA GRACEMAN finds out she is in the next round. She is the cutest thing ever! i love how sweet Howie is to her, it truly melts my heart.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert performs and they are quite interesting. Not just the performance itself, but the costuming and everything as a whole. The dancing without the costumes would just be dancing and the costumes by themselves would just be costumes but put together it is truly something special.

Miami All Stars, Those Funny Little People and the Fiddleheads are the last group to find out where they stand. They are also given a montage of last night's performances before we find out that THOSE FUNNY LITTLE PEOPLE are going home. The Fiddleheads and Miami All Stars now must convince the judges why they should stay in the competition. They each state their cases and then it is determined that the act moving on to the next round is....MIAMI ALL STARS!

Congratulations to all four acts and best of luck to all twelve in their future endeavors. Be sure to tune in next week to see the next twelve acts perform. Goodnight!

TV Review, THE VOICE – Season 1- “Battles, Part 4”

NBC’s alternate reality version of AMERICAN IDOL excels with its coaches, but the Battle format leaves a lot to be desired.
When THE VOICE premiered last month, it quickly proved to be one of NBC’s surprise breakout hits. It’s a reality music competition in the vein of AMERICAN IDOL , but the twist is, the “coaches” picked their favorites with the backs turned tothe contestants. They were judging them on talent, not by how they looked.

It was a great idea, and with strong coaches like Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine (of Maroon 5), it lended some fresh voices and some current pop validity to the proceedings.

Then the show started the Battles rounds, and well, things have been hit and miss since.
Here’s the problem, “Battles, Part 4” is the fourth week we’ve had the contestants slowly widdled down to the final 16. Each coach picks 4 contestants apiece and in order to get there, they have to pit artists in a musical Tunderdome where two contestants sing off each other with only one leaving the victor.

'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition': Is NBC's 'Loss' ABC's 'Biggest' Gain?

James
Rejected reality contenders are put to the test in TV's newest diet and fitness challenge series.

Fans of NBC's The Biggest Loser will be happy to know that the new show is from the same producers at 3 Ball Prods. But for those looking for something a bit different, 3 Ball CEOsJ.D. Roth and Todd Nelson insist that this is a new take on weight loss.

PHOTOS: Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition

For starters, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition features participants who were actually rejected from Biggest Loser for weighing too much.

"Everything comes from an authentic place for us," Roth told The Hollywood Reporter. "So, you know, when you send a contestant home that's too fat to be on The Biggest Loser. It came out of passion. I can't do it. I can't send these people home to die. They're going to die. It's wrong. We got to do something for these people."

And that's where the idea for Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition was born.

"[We thought], well, let's create a show for them," Roth added. "That comes from an honest place. When things come from an honest place, something good usually happens."
