Kate Middleton Recycles DVF Dress at Pre-Royal Wedding Bash

Zara Phillips looked like a very happy bride in a somewhat simple Stewart Parvin, which did suit the Queen's granddaughter's laidback style.

Kate wore the same neutral gold brocade coat that she wore to Laura Parker-Bowles' wedding and to another wedding in 2010 (when she accessorized with black hat and fascinator). Not sure if she's wearing the same lace dress underneath(Update: Other photos do show the same hint of lace, so we're saying it is the same dress Kate wore to the LPB wedding and a book party). We like that she added a different fascinator for a fresh, new look.

Smooch: Peter Phillips' wife Autumn plants a smacker on the cheek of their baby daughter Savannah as they leave the Palace of Holyroodhouse after the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall Her demeanour might well have been one of dignity and elegance for her sister-in-law Zara Phillips' wedding yesterday.

However today, Autumn Phillips showed off an all together more unguarded and loving side as she planted a kiss on the cheek of her adorable baby daughter as they left the Holyroodhouse.

Savannah looked delighted and grinned as her mother lifted her into the air and landed her lips on the little one's face.

According to Wikipedia: "This tiara was a wedding gift to then Princess Elizabeth from her mother-in-law Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark (born Princess Alice of Battenberg). The Meander Tiara is in the classical Greek 'key pattern' featuring a large brilliant cut diamond in the centre surrounded by a diamond wreath. The tiara also incorporates a central wreath of leaves and scrolls on either side. The Queen has never worn it in public and it was given to Princess Anne around 1972. Princess Anne has frequently worn the tiara in public, notably during her engagement to Mark Phillips." Also from Kate and Camilla to Bea and Eugenie, the Countess of Wessex and other guests, everyone seemed to be wearing a pair of nude, platform heels. Doeseveryone have Kate Fever?

Zara Phillips wedding dress is talk of the town and her photos are trending. Royal wedding in Edinburg was historic in more ways than one.

It is being called the wedding dress of the year. The thirty something grand daughter of the English queen Zara Phillips tied the knot with her love of years in a very private but glamorous ceremony in Edinburg. Her husband is one of the top rugby players in the country Mike Tindall. Tindal the captain of the rugby team of England.

Zara Phillips, the 30-year-old bride wore an ivory dress, with a court train. The dress was a Stewart Parvin creation, according to spokesman of Zara. She also wore white silk veil, while her wedding bouquet displayed many stunning Calla Lilies.

Many are saying that it was a historic occasion. By the way anything that happens to or is related to the monarchy is something historic indeed. But it made a thing a bit historic as it was after twenty long years that a royal wedding was held in Scotland. The second marriage of Princess Anne, Zara’s mother with Timothy Laurence was the last royal wedding officiated in Scotland, in 1992.

Soulja Boy buys a $55 million jet for his 21st birthday

Soulja Boy buys a $55 million jet for his 21st birthday
Soulja Boy turned 21 on Thursday, and like any young working man, he marked the occasion by buying himself a nice birthday present: a tricked-out jet, a Gulfstream G5 with a $55-million price tag.

The rapper's management confirmed the purchase on Friday, telling TMZ that Soulja Boy added $20 million in upgrades to the plane, base price $35 million.

How can a person spend $20 million inside an airplane, other than ordering lunch when the flight attendants come around with the food-for-purchase? Think travertine floors, Brazilian hardwood floors, Italian leather seats and -- now that the entertainer is 21 -- four liquor bars.

Oh, add a custom paint job too, with the Soulja Boy logo.

Plaxico Burressmeets with Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers officially have entered the Plaxico Burress sweepstakes.

General manager Kevin Colbert confirmed the team met with its 2000 first-round pick early Saturday morning, just one day after Burress met with the New York Giants, another former team.

According to Colbert, there have been no contract negotiations with the free-agent wide receiver, who was released from prison earlier this summer. But overall it was a productive visit.

iPhone 5 Rumors: Bigger, Better, Soon?

iPhone 5 Rumors: Bigger, Better, Soon?
iPhone 5 rumors say that the next iteration of Apples iconic cell phone/personal organizer/awesome lifestyle accessory will be bigger, expanding the screen from 3.5 inches to four inches with the same overall case size. Images of the iPhone 5 were leaked to a British blog, Mobile Fun, by two different Chinese case manufacturers.

Expanding the screen without changing the size of the phone was done by shrinking the border around the screen to nothing. The case also will be curved, according to the rumors, unlike the more square construction used in the iPhone 4.

It's also expected that the antenna will be redone--perhaps as part of the logo--after the iPhone 4's side antenna problems. In the iPhone 4, the antenna wouldn't work if the phone was held in one hand so that the hand touched both sides. This led to Apple providing free phone cases to all iPhone 4 owners.

Should Ravens be interested in Randy Moss?

Randy Moss
The top two free-agent wide receivers -- Santonio Holmes and Sidney Rice -- are off the market, leaving a group with plenty of question marks.

The remaining receivers include Steve Smith (injury issue), Braylon Edwards (character issue), Plaxico Burress (legal issue) and one who has been known more for his issues than catches recently.

That's Randy Moss. He's a risk because of his age (34) and attitude. Is he a moody receiver who is a shell of himself? Or is he primed for another monstrous comeback with the right team?

It's certainly a gamble, and the Ravens have to determine if it's one they're willing to take with the release of Derrick Mason.

The Ravens were once interested in Moss. It was six years ago when the Ravens talked with the Minnesota Vikings about trading for him.

Moss is two years removed from catching 83 passes for 1,264 yards and 13 touchdowns. But last year, he combined for 28 catches with three teams (although he managed to scored five touchdowns).

Engagement's off for Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari - The Denver Post

Engagement's off for Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari
The engagement of Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari is off. The break came just three months after the Chicago Bears quarterback proposed to the former "Hills" star. A source told People, "She got dumped. She's absolutely devastated. She can't believe this is happening." Cavallari, 24, and Cutler, 28, had just celebrated their planned wdding next spring with an engagement party last week and the two had recently completed their wedding registry. "She was planning her dream wedding, the date was set, the location - everything was set," the source said. On Saturday night, Cavallari was spotted without her engagement ring at The Beverly in L.A. -- and telling friends including Nicky Hilton that the wedding had been called off, People said.

Cutler also changed his Facebook status to single and warned friends on his account not to talk trash about Cavallari, according to Radaronline.

"Thank you all for the support, but if you talk bad about Kristin I will delete and block you," Jay wrote on his Facebook page early yesterday morning.

"It's unnecessary and heartless. Also, don't say now I can play football, I could play football when I had her compared to when I don't. Football is the least of my worries, so have some respect."

First trailer of Haywire featuring Gina Carano is out

First trailer of Haywire featuring Gina Carano is out
For fighter Gina Carano, Haywire is her big screen debut. The movie has a heavy Hollywood cast, which includes Michael Douglas Antonio Banderas, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton and Channing Tatum. The story is about a freelance agent named Mallory Kane (played by Carano) who is double-crossed by her handlers. When she finds out that she has been set up, the whole mission blows up. This starts up a race to an international hunt down. Mallory tries to return to the United States in order to protect her family and get her revenge. The movie career interrupted Gina Carano’s fighting career. Before 2009, the mixed martial arts fighter was one of the most famous faces in MMA, known for being undefeated. But in 2009, the 29-year-old fighter-turned-actress lost to Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, thus ending her line of undefeated run in her career. Since then, there was only one fight set up this year in April.

Carano had to challenge Sarah D’Alielo. However, despite the high expectations of the fans and the clearance given by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the Strikeforce show which had to take place in Houston was cancelled. Gina Carano’s doctor did not give her the green light and did not share the reasons. Gina Carano, 29, had other movie appearances before. She starred in the film Ring Girls, based on the true story of five American women going to Vegas and fighting the most famous female fighters in the world. Carano also appeared in the reality show Fight Girls, on NBC’s American Gladiators and in Michael Jai White’s film, Blood and Bone.

House Speaker John Boehner Speech

John BoehnerImage via WikipediaGood evening. I'm John Boehner. I serve as Speaker of the whole House -- of the members of both parties that you elect. These are difficult times in the life of our nation. Millions are looking for work, have been for some time, and the spending binge going on in Washington is a big part of the reason why. Before I served in Congress, I ran a small business in Ohio. I was amazed at how different Washington DC operated than every business in America. Where most American business make the hard choices to pay their bills and live within their means, in Washington more spending and more debt is business as usual. I've got news for Washington - those days are over. President Obama came to Congress in January and requested business as usual -- yet another routine increase in the national debt limit -- we in the House said 'not so fast.' Here was the president, asking for the largest debt increase in American history, on the heels of the largest spending binge in American history. Here's what we got for that spending binge: a massive health care bill that most Americans never asked for. A 'stimulus' bill that was more effective in producing material for late-night comedians than it was in producing jobs. And a national debt that has gotten so out of hand it has sparked a crisis without precedent in my lifetime or yours. The United States cannot default on its debt obligations. The jobs and savings of too many Americans are at stake.

What we told the president in January was this: the American people will not accept an increase in the debt limit without significant spending cuts and reforms.

And over the last six months, we've done our best to convince the president to partner with us to do something dramatic to change the fiscal trajectory of our country. . .something that will boost confidence in our economy, renew a measure of faith in our government, and help small businesses get back on track.

Last week, the House passed such a plan, and with bipartisan support. It's called the 'Cut, Cap, and Balance' Act. It CUTS and CAPS government spending and paves the way for a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, which we believe is the best way to stop Washington from spending money it doesn't have. Before we even passed the bill in the House, the President said he would veto it.

I want you to know I made a sincere effort to work with the president to identify a path forward that would implement the principles of Cut, Cap, & Balance in a manner that could secure bipartisan support and be signed into law. I gave it my all.

Unfortunately, the president would not take yes for an answer. Even when we thought we might be close on an agreement, the president's demands changed.

The president has often said we need a 'balanced' approach -- which in Washington means: we spend more. . .you pay more. Having run a small business, I know those tax increases will destroy jobs.

The president is adamant that we cannot make fundamental changes to our entitlement programs. As the father of two daughters, I know these programs won't be there for them and their kids unless significant action is taken now.

The sad truth is that the president wanted a blank check six months ago, and he wants a blank check today. That is just not going to happen.

You see, there is no stalemate in Congress. The House has passed a bill to raise the debt limit with bipartisan support. And this week, while the Senate is struggling to pass a bill filled with phony accounting and Washington gimmicks, we will pass another bill - one that was developed with the support of the bipartisan leadership of the U.S. Senate.

Obviously, I expect that bill can and will pass the Senate, and be sent to the President for his signature. If the President signs it, the 'crisis' atmosphere he has created will simply disappear. The debt limit will be raised. Spending will be cut by more than one trillion dollars, and a serious, bipartisan committee of the Congress will begin the hard but necessary work of dealing with the tough challenges our nation faces.

The individuals doing this work will not be outsiders, but elected representatives of the people, doing the job they were elected to do as outlined in the Constitution. Those decisions should be made based on how they will affect people who are struggling to get a job, not how they affect some politician's chances of getting reelected.

This debate isn't about President Obama and House Republicans ... it isn't about Congress and the White House ... it's about what's standing between the American people and the future we seek for ourselves and our families.

You know, I've always believed, the bigger government, the smaller the people. And right now, we have a government so big and so expensive it's sapping the drive of our people and keeping our economy from running at full capacity.

The solution to this crisis is not complicated: if you're spending more money than you're taking in, you need to spend less of it,

There is no symptom of big government more menacing than our debt. Break its grip, and we begin to liberate our economy and our future.

We are up to the task, and I hope President Obama will join us in this work.

God bless you and your families, and God bless America.

John Boehner Debt Ceiling Speech: House Speaker Addresses Deficit Talks (VIDEO)

John BoehnerImage via WikipediaWASHINGTON -- House Speaker John Boehner says President Barack Obama wants a blank check from Congress to raise the debt ceiling, but that he's not going to get one.

Boehner says the solution to the debt crisis isn't complicated. He says if you spend more than you take in, you have to spend less.

In his response to Obama's televised address to the nation, Boehner gave no indication of compromise.

"Unfortunately, the president would not take yes for an answer," he said. "Even when we thought we might be close on an agreement, the president's demands changed."

The House speaker did say the U.S. cannot default. He said the crisis would be over if the Senate approves a new House Republican plan to be voted on in the House this week, and if the president signs it.

CBS News' Jill Jackson wrote in a tweet that as Boehner left the Capitol he was overheard saying, "I didn't sign up for going mano-a-mano with the President of the United States."

Obama and Boehner gave dueling remarks just about a week before an Aug. 2 deadline to raise the government's borrowing limit.

2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible 2SS

Lowering the convertible roof of the Camaro fixes a lot of what I think is wrong with the regular Camaro coupe. First, claustrophobia and poor visibility are major issues in the Camaro hardtop. Let in some sunlight and ditch the big C-pillars, and your mood immediately and literally brightens and your confidence in changing lanes instantly increases. Second, the sleek and sexy Camaro coupe looks like it might handle and corner like a Porsche 911, but the Chevy disappoints with its general feeling of heft. The (heavier) convertible Camaro doesn't handle any better, but its character is less suggestive of a world-class sports car; it's more of a cruiser, and by that measure its handling is quite capable.

Acceleration seems incongruously slow based on all the fantastic noise that the engine makes. Tall gearing is surely partly to blame. Also, I observed a strange delayed throttle response if you jump on the gas in second gear.

The Camaro convertible's trunk is teeny tiny and has a small opening, and the power roof is slow to operate. On the plus side, though, I noticed very little (if any) cowl shake, an ailment that tends to negatively afflict most convertibles with more than two seats.

A manifesto for a Muslim-free Europe, an Infidel-free Middle East

Anders Behring Breivik
Norwegians mourn the victims of Friday's attacks which left over 90 people dead [Reuters]

I have just finished reading a terrifying document. It's called 2083: A European declaration of Independence.

It's full of advice for the budding Christian martyr. Handy tips on how to build bombs and make poisons; on how to use video games to hone your shooting skills.

I came across it on a far right website.

At 1511 pages long it’s a work of extreme prejudice - against Muslims predominantly.

Ultimately, the author wants a Muslim-free Europe.

The author’s name is Andrew Berwick. He datelines the document London 2011. He spent 3 years of his life writing it and clearly believes, with a passion, every single word.

Post iPhone 5 release date: Can AT&T maintain subscriber growth?

iPhone 5, released, AT&T
Rumor mill is claiming that Apple might allow other carriers like Sprint Wireless and T-Mobile USA to sell its still-unannounced, but most likely existing Apple iPhone 5. So for the former exclusive carrier of the iPhone AT&T, is this a big bad news? Well, a bit, but not what others were then suggesting.

According to AT&T, they have added at least 331,000 new subscribers last quarter, which is more than 100% compared to 91,000 that analysts have suggested. However, the company’s profit fell to $3.59 billion compared to its previous record of $4 billion, but still better than the estimates made also by analysts.

Apparently, Verizon Wireless started selling the iPhone 4 in Q1 of this year, which is the first CDMA version of the iPhone to land in United States. Analysts and journalists then have predicted the growth slowdown of AT&T, but if the new figures presented yesterday is accurate, then it looks like there’s still hope for AT&T even after September, which is the rumored release month of the iPhone 5.

Can AT&T maintain its subscriber growth post iPhone 5 even with more competing carriers? Well, obviously they can especially if they will carry more Android and Windows Phone by the end of this year, which is actually possible (Nokia with Windows phones should start popping out of warehouses later this year).

Rumor has it that Google will introduce a new Nexus phone later this year, which will carry the Android’s latest build called Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s worth noting that AT&T is the latest carrier to support the Google Nexus S which is a phone manufactured by Samsung. The AT&T-flavored Nexus S will arrive by weekend and will sport a tag price of $99 with contract. Obviously, Google and AT&T have started a partnership regarding the Nexus line, so Nexus 3 under AT&T is highly possible now.

Verizon Expects the iPhone 5 to Launch This Fall

Verizon, Mobiles, Apple, iPhone 5,
While discussing Verizon’s results from the past quarter, Verizon COO and soon-to-be CEO Lowell McAdam made a very candid quip about Apple’s next iPhone release saying that while his company had expected it this summer, the carrier now expects it to arrive sometime this fall. Of course, this isn’t new. There are rumors abound about a release sometime this fall and possibly as soon as the end of August but what does make this interesting is that it’s coming from the CEO of a major wireless provider and not from a source. He did however state that his company still has no idea when the phone is going to come out.

So, if you’ve been worrying about whether or not the iPhone 4S/iPhone 5 would be coming out this year, you can probably rest pretty easy. It’s now just a matter of getting a specific date down.

Speaking of that, iPhone Italia, a source that will surely get a laugh out of our own Will Shanklin, is reporting that September 5th is the date that a “very reliable source” told them would be launch day for the next iPhone in the United States. That launch would then be followed by a October 5th launch everywhere else. Take those specific dates with a grain of salt but that early September release date has popped up so many times that it seems like the right horse to bet on.

British painter Lucian Freud dies at 88

Lucian Freud, painters, artists
Lucian Freud, a British artist who gained fame for his intense and deeply textural nude paintings, has died. He was 88.

Freud, the grandson of the pioneering psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, died Wednesday at his home in London following an illness, according to a representative for his New York dealer, William Acquavella.

The artist's best-known works feature subjects in anguished, anti-erotic poses, their psychology externalized onto their fleshy bodies. He liked to use impasto, a technique involving the thick application of paint, to create his highly textured portraits.

"I want paint to work as flesh," he once said. "As far as I am concerned, the paint is the person."

During his long career, Freud made portraits of a number of public figures. He once painted supermodel Kate Moss naked and visibly pregnant. He reportedly engaged in animated negotiations with Buckingham Palace to create his 2001 portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, who sat fully clothed. The royal painting divided the public, with some criticizing it as glum and depressing.

Freud's paintings are highly prized among museums and collectors who have been willing to pay large sums for them. In 2008, his nude portrait of a heavy-set civil servant reclining on a sofa, "Benefits Supervisor Sleeping," sold for $33.6 million at a Christie's auction, a record figure at the time.

"Unlike many artists, his late works were among his most significant contributions," Paul Schimmel, chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, said Thursday. "He got better, more ambitious and youthful. He was a very young elder statesman."

Born in Berlin in 1922, Freud was one of three sons of Austrian architect Ernst Freud and his German wife, Lucie. The family fled Nazi Germany in 1933 and eventually settled in London. Freud became a British citizen in 1939. As a boy, he studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London and the East Anglian School of Drawing and Painting. During World War II, the budding artist served with the British merchant navy.

Fakes, Chinese, Apple
Yahoo reported today that China's passion for iPads and iPhones has triggered widespread cloning and even brawls. Now, it has gone further with a fake Apple store so convincing even the staff think they work for Steve Jobs.

The store, in the southwestern city of Kunming, was uncovered by an American blogger who was initially fooled, before she noticed not everything was as it seemed.

At first glance, the signs, computers and layout of the shop all look exactly like a genuine Apple store, says the blogger, who posts under the name BirdAbroad.

Photos posted by the blogger show the employees wearing Apple's trademark blue T-shirts with name badges hanging around their necks.

But a closer look reveals the winding stairs going up to the chill-out area are poorly made, the walls have not been painted well, and the shopfront sign says "Apple Store" whereas the real deal just sports the now-famous fruit logo.

The employees, meanwhile, all genuinely believe they work for Apple, said BirdAbroad, who asked to remain anonymous when contacted by AFP on Thursday.

What are Sinkholes?

A sinkhole, and the mess it left behind, is now creating a major roadblock for Clarksville business owners.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says the asphalt at the intersection of College Street and North Second Street is sinking because of aging sewer and drainage lines deep beneath the ground.

What are Sinkholes?

A sinkhole in Saint-Jude, Quebec has just collapsed a house, killing a family of four inside, leading people to ask what they are, how they occur and obviously who is at risk.

Sinkholes are depressions that occur when soil or bedrock has been removed and only air remains - commonly when the rock below the land surface is limestone, carbonate rock or salt beds that have been naturally dissolved by ground water circulating through them and then the water dries up.

As the rock is dissolved by water(dissolution), spaces are created (suffosion) and typically sinkholes happen suddenly because the surface stays intact until the weight becomes too much.

Sinkholes occur more often in places like Florida and Alabama because they have more underground rivers than most other states. When sinkholes form it is commonly because the ground has simply collapsed over underground rivers that were once filled with water.

So if you want to look for signs of a major drought in the making, disgruntled skiers at Lake Tahoe are not going to be as accurate as sinkholes.
