I have friends that make 3 times as much as I do...The only difference is that they have a GC and I do not..and I am making much better than an average American....
So your saying that I am not suffering is not soothing to me...It does not reduce my pain.....It does not convince me in any way....
Not just that...My friends who chose not to come to America now have a higher net worth than me....So coming to America has not exactly been a great thing for me....More over whatever you are saying is just salt on my wounds...nothing less than that....

Labor substitution is not encouraged by INS any more, but is still possible.
Use the old labor and file for premium I-140. If approved you can use that priority date.
Simple as that, premium result will be in 15 days.

Hi,
My wife's first name is blank in Passport and we have her anme as "FNU Last Name" in passport, H4/I-94, EAD, 485 forms. Basically her last name is now Last Name + First name.
I was learnt that we need to split the name and get a new passport.
My question is, how can we change on 485 document?
Do I need to take infopass appointment after getting new passport? or Do I need to write a letter to USCIS about name split. or we have to live like this till we get GC?
Please help me.

Is it accurate to say that new way of allocating spill over visas effectively acheive same effect as eliminiating country limits?
For short term yes. Long term No.
If there is a surge of ROW applicants. India & China applicants are at severe disadvantage.

ratturani, i am seeing an increasing number of posts that state the facts as clearly as you have stated... thats great... now i think somewhere some day, someone will float a good idea of motivating employers such as MS, Intel, BAC etc to fight for us instead of trying to motivate only the congress... see, we dont have too much of power in congress... :-(

I think your analysis considers EB1(ROW)+EB2(ROW) spill over to EB3(ROW) that is not true,
EB1 Overflow ---> EB2
EB2 Overflow ---> EB2(I)+EB China
That means as per your calculation, it would be 19,282 considering 0 EB1 and EB2 filled in 2010.
As i said in my previous posts EB2 would be May 2006 by end of this year for sure.
Best case scenario considering more than 30K spill over it would be end of 2006.
You are also calculating spillover as of today with the pending cases, but the spill over happens only in Last quarter of 2010. There would be some if not more EB1+EB2 ROW applicants.

Like I said on the other thread. AILA's latest memo proves the USCIS violated regulations by rejecting EB3-other 485 petitions in the middle of the month even though those petitions were current in June.
And like I said, USCIS is now acting like an undocumented immigrant violating laws and regulations. And we just finished an 18 month debate in the senate about the law abiding issues of immigrants.

Try detaining any of their top Hollywood Heroes at an Indian airport for 2 hours and see how USA media and people will react to it.
You people have no respect for your own motherland and always think everything American is good than your own country. Learn to stand up for your motherland. Just because you want your greencard does not mean you forget your roots. Anti-Immigrants (read racists) of this country will still call you slumdogs even if you are a citizen of this country. But your own country people will never forget you and will accept you as their own even if you have lived here for 50 years.

The solution however is not to disband the entire H1b system/EB greencard system as the anti immigrants want but to modify the rules surrounding it. I think most fair minded people can agree that this is needed now.
This is exactly what IEEE-USA (http://www.ieeeusa.org/policy/issues/H1bvisa/index.html)is asking for us. It is not good for us now, it will not be good for us later and it is not good for anyone.
We need to educate ourselves about these issues. Ignoring them will not help. Just because we ignore it does not mean that the person voting on our bill is also ignoring it.
Based on such issues that I learn everyday, I am not surprised our bill is not passing.
